Ladies and Gentlemen,

This event features an entertaining cultural program based on the legends & lore of a monumental Norwegian-American:

John A. "Snowshoe" Thompson (Jon A. Torstenson-Rue),

the "Mailman of the Sierra".
Born in 1827 in Telemark, Norway, he emigrated to America in 1837.  Snowshoe Thompson carried the mail between Placerville, CA and Genoa, NV between from 1856 to 1876, traversing the mighty Sierras on a pair of homemade long skis while carrying a mail bag of 50-100 pounds strapped to his back.

NCSF Member Erik "the Red" Braa will MC this event for a fourth year running. An evening not to be missed!
